More than 54,000 people make their home in Lincoln County, which includes the cities and towns of Cave, Chain of Rocks, Corso, Elsberry, Foley, Fountain n' Lakes, Hawk Point, Moscow Mills, Old Monroe, Olney, Silex, Troy, Truxton, Whiteside, and Winfield.
It is surrounded by the counties of Pike (north), St. Charles (southeast), Warren (southwest), Montgomery (west) & Calhoun County, Illinois (east, across Mississippi River)
Lincoln County is approximately 630 square miles and is 68th fastest growing county in the nation and the second fastest growing county in Missouri. It is part of the Metro St. Louis area. About 14,000 people live in Troy, which is the county seat of Lincoln County and is one of the fastest growing communities in the state.
It is home to Cuivre River State Park, which is one of Missouri's largest and most rustic state parks. Cuivre River State Park encompasses 6393 acres of hills, creeks, woods and grasslands. It offers 3 different types of camping opportunities and has 38 miles of trails. About 18 miles of trails are open to horseback riding and Cuivre River is one of only four state parks that provide overnight camping for horseback riders.
